This splint is used to immobilize the lower limb after injury, surgery, inflammation and degenerative diseases.
You can also purchase additional Ankle and Achilles Terry Cloth Liners.
Indications:
This splint is used from initial treatment right through until final healing, including adjustments. These splints are available in two versions – basic and forte. Basic version splints use cloth straps for comfort when full circular support is not required. Forte version splints uses aluminum core cloth covered straps to offer full circular support and can be used as an alternative to plaster/fiberglass casting.
How to use:
The initial adjustment could be preformed on the uninjured limb then place the injured limb into the splint and, with careful and gentle pressure, adjust the splint to that the injured limb is fixed into the proper position. Fasten the straps provided. Opening the straps allows for the splint to be removed. The splint is delivered in a prefabricated form with the most frequently used angle (90). If necessary, you can change the angle of the splint by taking off both lateral fixation plates, set the required angle, and replacing the fixation plates.
General Info:
The advise and assistance of a professionally competent person is advised for the first time use. The splints are not sterile; do not use on an open wound. Fine adjustment/readjustment can be made without removing the splint. To avoid injury from sharp metallic edged, the splints should never be cut. To increase wearing comfort, additional liners can be ordered separately. Basic version splints use cloth straps for comfort however, when full circular support is needed the forte version should be used. The forte version has straps which are manufactured from the same aluminum core as the splint.
